Our host house "Le Saule" is located half a mile west off Brianconnet and away from the main road.
Brianconnet is a small village which at Roman times was the country's main town linking the cities of Castellane, Vence and Glandèves.
In the 11th Century, the area was given to the "l'abbaye de Lérins".
The Church of Notre Dame from the 12th Century is located in the village, filled with roman features and the painting "La Vierge de Miséricorde" from Louis Brea.
There are also other smaller chapels worth taking a look at.
Brianconnet is surrounded by the hamlets of Prignolet et La Sagne both with their own churches
Going up to the castle ruins will offer a panoramique view of the valley of "Haut Estéron".
In the middle of a wild lavander and thyme field, the house is a sheepfold of the 18th restored. This haven of rest, quiet and comfortable, includes 4 independent bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
